Für einen Skandal sorgte 1982 ihr nur für volljährige Kinobesucher zugelassener Film Der Fan, in dem sie einen minderjährigen Fan eines Musikers (dargestellt von Rheingold-Sänger Bodo Staiger) spielte, der von diesem nach der ersten Liebesnacht fallengelassen wird und sich durch die Ermordung des Idols sowie die anschliessende Zerstückelung der Leiche rächt. Ihren ersten Auftritt in einem Kinofilm hatte sie 1981 mit 16 Jahren in "Nach Mitternacht". Im gleichen Alter begann sie ihre Ausbildung zur Schauspielerin. Im Hagen-Bergdorf-Studio in New York nahm sie vier Jahre Schauspielunterricht.
